Today each year group at the Main School gathered for a talk on internet safety. The internet is a big part of everyone’s lives now and the importance of using the web safely is an integral part of the children’s learning. Amy from Childnet International talked to the children about the different factors of the internet covering the benefits and many positives of internet use. Issues covered includes personal information, social networking, downloading, online grooming, cyberbullying, gaming, digital footprints, online reputation, and more. The children were encouraged to give their ideas on each topic creating an open discussion between them and the speaker. This evening parents are able to attend a talk on their children’s internet safety and tomorrow Amy will be visiting Bevendean and The Royal Kent.
