Year 5 Trip to INTECH

13th August 2018

Wallace and Gromit are not the only ones to visit space for the day- Year 5 did too in their great trip to the INTECH Science Museum near Winchester! All they had to do was sit back in the giant Planetarium and watch hundreds of amazing planets and stars whizz by, going well beyond the Milky Way. Back on earth, the girls and boys had to plan and construct a large, freestanding K’nex structure spanning between two tables, which was judged for strength and design. In addition, they enjoyed exploring a number of different scientific topics and carrying out a wide range of experiments, such as creating a tornado, climbing inside a colon and even moving a ball using only brainwaves. The visit supported our curriculum admirably but, equally importantly, opened a door on the many incredible things that science has to offer- and was good fun too!
