The transition from Bevendean to the Main School is exciting for the Year 1 children, to prepare them for joining Year 2 in September, they visit the Main School regularly for exciting activities. Today the Year 1 children came to visit Mrs Keat in the library for a Christmas story and a spot of crafts! Mrs Keat read them the story of The Snowman by Michael Morpurgo, one December morning James wakes to see snow falling and he rushes outside to make a snowman! This special tale of true Christmas magic made for a wonderful story-time for our Year 1 children. Afterwards, they set about making Christmas decorations for their classrooms Christmas trees, making candy canes with beads, stickers, and glitter. The children had an amazing afternoon in the Library familiarizing themselves with the new surroundings and they even heard the school bell for the first time, which caused a lot of excitement!
