Destination of Pupils

Nearly all boys and a majority of the girls leave Danes Hill at the end of Year 8, gaining entry to their senior school via Scholarship or Common Entrance examinations. Currently the most popular are Epsom College, Cranleigh, RGS Guildford and St John’s whilst regular destinations further afield include The King's School, Canterbury, Wellington College, Eton College, Westminster School and Winchester College. In 2008, 31 academic and non-academic scholarships including Music, Art, Drama, Sport and All-Rounder have been gained to senior schools. A small number of girls leave at the end of Year 6 to a range of schools including Tormead School, The Lady Eleanor Holles School, Guildford High School, St Teresa’s School and St Catherine's School. Each year the Year 8 scholars set aside time to sit a GCSE exam in one or other of the languages they have studied, and again there is a high frequency of A and A* grades.
