Trips Day!

19th October 2021

The Danes Hill children had an exciting day of trips and workshops on Thursday 14 October. The Year 2 children went to Legoland, they enjoyed lots of amazing rides, their favourite being driving the cars made out of Lego! They made their way around the town made of Lego and enjoyed a delicious packed lunch in the sunshine. Year 3 children had Egyptian Day at school, they all dressed up as if they were setting off on a safari and special guests arrived to teach them all about the wonders of Egypt. Year 4 visited High Ashurst, a wonderful wide-open space for learning in the natural environment. The children enjoyed the adventure zone where they tried the high ropes, the climbing tower, woodland skills and more!

Year 5 had a wonderful day at Walton Firs, their team building skills were put to the test and they worked incredibly well to complete exciting outdoor activities. Their favourite activity was when they had to move 5 tyres from one branch to another, this was a very tricky task and required focus! The Year 6 pupils immersed themselves in their Islam studies, their current topic in their RS lessons. They visited the Shah Jahan Mosque, built in 1889, the oldest purpose-built mosque in the country!

The Year 7 children went to a sculpture exhibition, possibly the most extensive outdoor display of sculpture in the world set within an enchanting arboretum and wildlife inhabited water garden. They finished their trips day in Go Ape, enjoying the view from the top of the trees overlooking Surrey. Year 8 visited Lympne Zoo exploring over 900 rare and endangered animals including big cats, small cats, primates, gorillas and many more. Set in 600 acres, the children had a wonderful day in the great outdoors!
