Danes Hill”s ski team fell agonisingly short of a gold medal following an impressive display at the Dual Slalom event at Sandown Ski Centre.
It was a memorable day for the young skiers as they had the opportunity to meet Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards. Eddie opened a new ramp at the Centre, which is where the Danes Hill team train, before talking to the crowd about his experiences at the Winter Olympics in Calgary.
The Danes Hill team won all of their group races, progressing to the final in style. It was a nip and tuck final which could have gone either way but the Danes Hill team deserve enormous credit on securing a silver medal as many of their opponents were much older!
