Year 6 visit the Grayson Perry Exhibition

Year 6 went to the British Museum at the end of January to see the Grayson Perry exhibition and the permanent collections.  During their visit, they worked on a booklet created especially by Freya Harrison, and also viewed ancient works from South America and Greece. The children saw vases covered in witty captions, elaborate tapestries, and - the centrepiece - a richly decorated cast iron coffin-ship, alongside objects from the past two million years of culture and civilization from the first great invention to the 'Hello Kitty Pilgrim' hand-towel, they discovered a reality that is old and new, poetic and factual, and funny as well as grim.
