Eco Committee – Gardening

29th January 2019

This morning our Lower and Middle School Eco Committee took to the vegetable patch to pull out the weeds and to tidy up the patches. At Danes Hill the children grow carrots, beetroot, pumpkins, broccoli and potatoes and our Eco Committee assist to keep the area free of weeds and ensure the healthy growth of the crops. Speaking to Oliver.B, he said, “I love Eco Committee, it’s really fun and each time we do something different to help the environment. I hope to be in Eco Committee until I leave Danes Hill, to continue to help our vegetables grow and help the environment”. Miss Fenwick who runs Eco Committee holds weekly meetings with the groups to discuss ways in which we can continue to help the school reduce waste, improve the use of transport. They aim to create a cleaner and environmentally friendly school.
